Star Wars
UK Quad
"Hildebrandt" Style B British Quad cinema poster for the original 1977 release of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.
Background and Rarity
Created by twin fantasy illustrators Greg and Tim Hildebrandt, the brothers were reportedly given only 48 hours to complete the piece. Because they had no access to photos of the actors, their depictions of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia are notably more stylized than in later marketing.
This specific poster is considered one of the rarest Star Wars posters ever produced. It was used briefly in London theaters for only one to two weeks in late 1977 before being replaced by a design by Tom Chantrell that more closely resembled the film's cast.
Key Details

Artist Signature: The "Hildebrandt" signature is visible in the lower right area of the artwork.
